Changes in boat buying habits ?

There has been an interesting development in the last several years: Boat buyers are moving away from mass production boats and towards special or market niche boats. It is as though they have suddenly realized how rapidly mass production boats depreciate, how expensive and frequent the maintenance costs and repairs are, and how quickly they lose their glossy appeal if they are not constantly waxed and polished.Add this to the unappealing fact that production boats all tend to “look alike”, especially in the last few years, and you have the development of a new boat market - Boats that are distinctly different from the mass production boats.

Hence we have established strong relationships with the builders of such "special" boats over the last few years.

An excellent example of these "special boats" is the German built 38 ft. Vilm 116 cruising yacht / motorsailer.  It instantly became "Boat of the Year" when it was introduced to the US market for the first time during the Annapolis Boat Show in October of 2001. We are also presently working with a high quality builder to create a fast and very sea worthy trawler in the mid-thirty foot range.

We strive to give our customers an unequaled value for their money. The Vilm 116, for example, exceeds even the well-known “high quality” boats in its solidity, quality, and technical perfection.

“Special” boats deserve “special” promoting.  We therefore do not bombard prospective customers with ads in every boating magazine.  We prefer to prove the quality of our boats in point by point comparisons and personalized newsletters.  If you want to learn to recognize true quality and be an informed boat buyer, contact us via email or telephone and request a copy of our information brief, “Real Quality Defined”.  We are certain you will find this information extremely helpful in your search for your ideal boat.
